Which data export format do you use most frequently?

  • Tab-delimited (*.tab)
  • Stata binary (*.dta)
  • SPSS binary (*.sav)

Please, write in your comments why you prefer export to that format.

For my part, Stata is almost always my format of choice.

There are several reasons why:

  • Need to provide end/data users Stata files
  • Love the labelled data

Even when I’m processing data in R, I’m using Stata files.
