One interesting question for the Survey Solutions developers: do the exported images contain/preserve the metadata added to them by the camera app?
no. if the device has several cameras (for example the front and rear cameras) the user will have a possibility to switch between them.
that can be set manually in the camera settings if supported by the camera application:
Provided that your interviewers work for only one project, that shouldn’t be an issue. But if the images taken by the devices are destined for different projects, that will almost certainly be a burden. Why is that needed to be done before uploading? It can easily be batch-processed later and with greater capabilities.
Clearly that applies only to camera-sourced images. For uploads from the gallery the images are not transformed in any way.

In general NO. But if you intentionally wish to preserve the metadata, upload the image from the gallery. This will preserve the image file verbatim.
