PDS synchronization problems

A number of users have reported an issue synchronizing their tablets with PDS servers.

Upon investigation we see that all of these users have an underscore in the user name.
The use of underscore possible in domain names is restricted in hostnames:

This means that although our system can create such a PDS site, it may not be reachable in all contexts.

So if you are experiencing a problem synchronizing a tablet with a PDS server, check if the user name contains an underscore.

We will work on resolving the issue. At this time the apparent way forward would be to generate a PDS named differently for users that registered with an underscore in the user name.

For the moment the only way to make sure the PDS server is reachable is to avoid the underscore in your Survey Solutions (Designer) account.
