Issue with completing the interview

Dear community and support,

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development is currently running the National Agriculture Survey programme in Nepal, first with the listing phase.

In the past few days, they have been reporting a peculiar issue: at the end of the interview, the interviewer would click on “Complete”. But the tablet would freeze for a few seconds, and eventually get back to the Survey Solutions main screen/dashboard - the case seemingly not appearing in the “Complete” tab. Has anybody met such issue? What could be the cause? The server status is marked as healthy. They sent me a video clip, but it seems I am unable to attach it.

Thank you.
Best regards,

Benjamin.

Dear support,

Apparently after a while, the case does appear in the “Complete” tab. Tablets are brand new but I will inquire anyway. Still interested to hear if similar experience/mitigation solutions.

Thank you

Benjamin.

See

But this has been dormant for many years now.

Dear Sergiy,

We have over 1,000 enumerators (using the same tablet model) and it seems like some still meet this issue. There is still a long delay between the time when they press “Complete” (some press up to 12 times… not sure it helps), and when the case is actually visible in the “Completed” tab on the dashboard. Based on the old post you shared, I asked enumerators who meet the issue to check the app version they use and update it if a newer version is available. If this fix the issue, then I will ask the whole fleet to do the same. Will let you know the outcome. Again, it does not look like we are losing any data, but this delay is definitely not convenient.

Thank you.
Best,

Benjamin.

Please share the logs from the affected devices indicating in which interviews (interview key) the issue was observed and when.

Dear @benj ,

Are there any critical rules in the questionnaire?

No, we do not have any critical rule in our questionnaire.

Dear Sergiy,

It seems like the app version was slightly outdated on some tablets (25.01.2 vs. 25.04.8 when updated). Updating the app, clearing the cache and restarting the app seems to have done the trick and the problematic tablets are no longer experiencing the issue. I’ll try to collect the logs still; no sure how many tablets were affected - we have around 1,000 enumerators.

Thank you.
Best,

Benjamin.

Hello @benj , thank you for confirming the problem was resolved by an update.

Make sure you update your server to v25.12.3 — that was a critical update.
