Can you install the postgres database on a linux server?

It seems that I didn’t explain myself: my question is if the postgres database can be installed on linux, or can it only be used on windows? In the documentation of the data collection software it only indicates windows environment.

Survey Solutions addresses the database via a connection string, thus it is agnostic of the OS hosting the DB engine.
