What happens if a survey is interrupted? Can respondents/interviewers resume from where they left off, or must they restart? When resuming, can the interviewer see previously entered responses?
Nothing bad happens conventionally to the data collected before the interruption occurred and the interview can be continued from the point it was interrupted (obviously leaving aside extreme interpretations of “interruption” like “interview has been interrupted because the tablet exploded” in which case yes, the situation is pretty bad).
In other CAPI software, data are not automatically saved, and data entry form developers need to add save directives to the form (e.g., save all information entered to this point upon pressing “Next” at the bottom of this page). In Survey Solutions, all data are continously saved without any action needed from the form developer.
