Creating a unique ID variable within a roster

Hello, my name is Ulises.

I am working on adapting an existing poverty measurement survey from its printed version to a CAPI version using Survey Solutions.

This survey uses a panel sample, surveying the same households every year. For this reason, I find the necessity to add an ID variable within the household roster, since every person in each household that was surveyed last year has an existing ID and a new ID will be added to new household members.

I have already created this variable, however, I can’t seem to find a way to create a validation condition that makes it so that it is not possible to write te same ID number for two or more household members. How could this be done?

  1. Mark the personid variable as hidden.
  2. Interviewers should not assign any id to the new members. Do this later in the office.
