Cawi distribution

Hi.
I’ll be doing an online survey with 2500 people which they will answer on their own computers.
I’m having some problems understanding the distribution though. Here’s what I would like:
a) Use the same access link for all of them.
b) Have each person only be capable of answering once.
c) If they stop answering before the end, I’d like it to be saved and for them to be able to resume where they left.

The part that seems to be a problem is the singular link. Can I do something about it?

Have you checked Web Interviewing (mysurvey.solutions)?

Yes.
The issue we are having is that it looks like to get the situation 4 in that page we would need to generate a diferent link for each respondent.
What I’d like to know is if there is a way to do so with only one link. Having all of them accessing the same link but using diferent emails/passwords to diferentiate between themseves.

Maybe I can ilustrate it better.
When we upload assingments from a .tab giving it the parameters
_quantity = 1
_email = empty
_password = distinct passwords
The assignment_link for all of them will be the same.
But if I provide an email then all assignment_link will be different.

So the question is, Is there a way to provide
_quantity = 1
_email = specify
_password = specify
and get only assignment_link?

Dear @surveyccc,

It is not clear what you mean by that. The same “Start” link for all assignments with _quantity = 1, _email = specify, _password = specify? In which scenario would it come in handy? The described one could be implemented via assignments with no emails.
And if you already have all 2500 emails then why you need to have the same link. Survey Solutions will send personal assignment to each responded.

Dear @surveyccc ,

Under your constraints:
_quantity = 1
_email = specify

you will always get a different link for each respondent.
They can stop and continue their interviews at this link anytime and you can get a list of all the different links in “Survey Setup” > “Download weblinks”.

There is just one caveat:
The entries in this list will be consumed (disappear) once a link has been opened. So it is advisable to save this list after creating the assignments
before sending out the invitations.

Is there any other reason (apart from knowing everyone’s link) why you want the link to be the same for everyone?

Klaus

Apologies for the delay in replying. I was trying to understand some things better.

The reason we wanted to do all in a single link is so that we could create a redirection page and send that one to the respondents instead and easily replace the link said page redirected to.
The reason why we would want to do something like that is because the sampler wants to make adjustments to the calculations of a random selection during the interview period.

It is my understanding that one interview can’t be used as a parameter on another, and that once we send the invitations we would no longer be able make do adjustments to the questionnaire.

I am sure you’ve spent months testing the reliability of your tool that will facilitate this approach, but it escapes me how the adjustment will be done in the case where the respondents simply follow the link in the first minute of your survey and complete it within the next minute. (Which is an unlikely, but still, a possibility.)

Once you send out an invitation, you can cancel the assignment or you can stop the whole survey. Everything else is beyond Survey Solutions.

Anyhow, your redirection page doesn’t have to be dumb to forward to just one other page, it can be smart to select the appropriate page (web link) based on the email that the recipient can enter.
