Hello,
We are currently encountering an issue in our data collection application related to roster size and nested rosters. Some households in the field have up to 200 members. Within the household member roster, eligible women are selected to answer the women’s questions, so we placed the women’s roster inside the household roster. Inside the women’s roster, we also have a birth history roster.
However, some teams in the field are now encountering the following error:
“The interview contains more data than the system allows”
This error appears after they add around 23 household members, even though the maximum household roster size is set to 200.
Fieldwork has already started, and some interviews have been completed, so we want to avoid disruptions. We would appreciate your guidance on:
-
Why the system limit is being exceeded even with fewer than 25 household members.
-
Whether our roster structure needs modification to avoid hitting system limits.
-
If modifications are required, what steps should we follow to adjust the questionnaire while minimizing impact on ongoing data collection.

Any immediate advice or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
