About the project – Impact Engines is a new organisation which is striving to develop and implement AI solutions in the international development and not for profit sector. About this tool – Generic AI LLMs like OpenAi, Claude, Gemini are not very helpful for advice on Survey Solutions, particularly in writing conditions for designer tool. These tools see that Survey Solutions uses C# and will jump to write an entire C# module complete with variable declarations, classes, etc which are not permitted in the constrained environment of the designer. This tool has been specifically trained and prompted on how to create code that will work within the Survey Solutions constrained version of C#.
The tool also has a teaching focus, so not just giving the user the code they require but also has a teaching component, walking the user through how and why the code works.
Another feature is this tool is enabled with ‘vision’ meaning that the user can (and is encouraged to) upload a screenshot of the project in designer tool when asking for coding advice. This allows the Agent to see the structure of their rosters, name of variables, etc so it can produce advice which is specific to the users project and questionnaire structure.
